Gryon, a natural paradise

With its slopes connected to the Villars ski resort, the village of Gryon is a natural jewel in the Vaudois Alps.

The south-facing village of Gryon (1,114 m) and the Barboleuse tourist resort are blessed with spectacular views of the alpine peaks.

The authentic traditional chalets in the old village are officially protected and the celebrated Miroir d’Argentine (2,325 m) rises up from the bottom of the valley overlooking Solalex. Here, two mountain restaurants offer gourmet cuisine or Swiss specialities including wood-fired raclette, fondue, wild mushroom dishes, and baked Vacherin Mont-d'Or AOP. A walk not to be missed in summer and winter, on foot or snow-shoe.

The exceptional hamlet of Taveyanne is listed as a national historic monument and owes its uniqueness to its 16th century chalets and beautiful meadows, a nature reserve since 1970, where the traditional mid-summer fête pastorale festival is celebrated.
