Offering an incomparable range of events, the Lake Geneva Region attracts culture fans from all over Switzerland and the world to its museums, theatres and concert halls, but above all to its many festivals and cultural events. All art forms are represented in the four corners of the region.
Pop, rock, classical or electronic music, dance, cinema, literature, crafts, street art: the choice is yours! The impressive diversity of the festivals and cultural events in the Lake Geneva Region makes the canton resonate throughout the year.
In 2016, Montreux really is the Swiss city of music. Its iconic Montreux Jazz Festival will open its 50th edition in July, while the 70th Musical September will pay tribute to classical music. More traditional but just as attractive, the Swiss National Music Festival will make the city on Lake Geneva resound with its 560 brass bands from all over Switzerland.
Meanwhile a must, the Museum Nights of Yverdon-les-Bains, Lausanne and the Riviera will hold a special place owing to the inauguration of new museums of international scope: Chaplin’s World in April, Nest (dedicated to the history of Nestlé) and the Alimentarium (food museum) in June.
