This ultra-modern museum with a firm focus on contemporary art puts on two permanent exhibitions and four to six temporary exhibitions a year. Covering design, graphics and fashion, the museum showcases all forms of modern art and loves building bridges between different styles.
Going against received ideas and taking a different look at art is one of the mudac’s philosophies. In its permanent exhibition area, the museum has the biggest collection of contemporary glass art in Switzerland and Europe, as well as an exhibition of Egyptian and Asian ancient art. As for the temporary exhibitions, they are always destined to surprise, with ceramics, photography but also media and jewellery in the spotlight
By 2020, the museum of contemporary art will move from the building opposite Lausanne cathedral to the site of the central museum near the station.
Mudac regularly holds special events and activities for children. Free admission for all on the first Saturday of the month.
