The Ant Trail starts at the final stop of the Château-d’Oex chairlift and leads down to the mid-station. The trail starts with a thematic exhibition, which is continued with signs all along the itinerary alternating between woods and meadows. Observing these giant anthills live is rather spectacular and well suited for children.
This didactic trail was set up in cooperation with the Lausanne Zoology Museum, which conducts several ant studies: inventory of wood ant species, analysis of the habitat of field ants, reproduction strategies or interactions between different ant species in Galapagos.
And as a bonus: the chairlift is free of charge for children up to 9 years of age.
