Plein Ciel lift
Beholding Lake Geneva, the Jorat forest and the Rhone Valley all at once: this is possible with the Plein Ciel lift at Mont-Pèlerin.
The Plein Ciel lift takes visitors to the top of the Telecom Tower on Mont Pèlerin (1,080 m), 65 metres above ground, to discover a spectacular panorama: from Lake Geneva to the Jorat forest, passing by the Rhone valley, the fields of the Swiss plateau and the Vevey vineyards.
This 360° panorama has attracted as many as 50,000 visitors since the lift became operational two years ago, owing to the partnership of Swisscom, the village of Chardonne and the Bernese Montreux-Oberland railway group.
The Plein Ciel lift is an hour's walk from the terminal of the funicular Vevey-Mont Pèlerin. The walk down to Vevey through forests, countryside and vineyards, always with a view of Lake Geneva, takes about 3 hours and is an idyllic family outing.
