Swiss Vapeur Park
Steam trains crossing a landscape with miniature monuments opposite Lake Geneva: this is Swiss Vapeur Park in Le Bouveret. This amusement park is greatly appreciated by families and fans of steam trains.
The Swiss Vapeur Park in Le Bouveret covers an area of 170,000 square metres opposite Lake Geneva.
The miniature steam trains take 12 minutes to cross the 1,700 metres on the main track, passing in front of scale models of Aigle Castle, the Church of Saanen or the covered market in Neuchâtel. Various railway features – 5 tunnels, 10 bridges, 27 shuntings and 6 level crossings are featured along the way.
Opened in 1989, Swiss Vapeur Park has a fleet of 16 engines, 8 of which are steam engines, and 4 to 8 wagons depending on the number of visitors.
On the occasion of the Steam Festival, which is held in June every year, more than 60 engines meet at Swiss Vapeur Park. Night visits are organised in summer.
An admission ticket entitles visitors to take as many trains as they wish. Several miniature restaurants serve normally-sized snacks.
