Lausanne is the only destination in the Lake Geneva Region offering two subway lines (m1 and m2).

The m2 is the first automatic subway in Switzerland. It was put into service on 27 October 2008. Connecting Ouchy (373 m) to Epalinges (711 m), m2 has become the backbone of Lausanne’s public transport. m2 moreover has a privileged connection with the Swiss Railway system, whose main regional lines cover all destinations in the region.

m1 is the second subway line and more frequently called TSOL. It links the city centre to the western area of Lausanne and also stops at the university campus. .
