No fewer than sixteen private railway lines cross the length and breadth of the Lake Geneva Region throughout the year.
Visit the fascinating world of rail by travelling on the delightful little train that takes you into the salt mines of Bex, or the Blonay-Chamby stream-train near Montreux, which now has the status of a world-famous tourist attraction thanks to the love affair between a handful of rail enthusiasts and a few locomotives and carriages from a bygone era. Switzerland's rail network has something for everyone, including steam-trains, rack-and-pinion railways and futuristic, high-tech trains with observation carriages.
