Vaudois Alps

Easily accessible by car or public transport from the plain, the resorts of the Vaudois Alps all have their own special features. Their point in common is certainly a typical art de vivre and a love of culinary traditions, which can be found in countless mountain restaurants.

The destinations of Leysin, Villars, Les Diablerets and Château-d'Oex represent the region of the Vaudois Alps that is known and appreciated by the lovers of outdoor sports (mountain biking, hiking, golf, hot-air ballooning, cycling, mountaineering, etc.) in a grandiose and preserved natural setting. The region charms its visitors with its sports offers, the beauty of its landscapes and tourist attractions as well as with a rich culinary and wine-related heritage that attracts fine food lovers and gourmets. The region is also a gold mine for fans of mountain railways: four panoramic lines, some of which are rack-rail trains, include the Montreux-Zweisimmen line crossing Château-d'Oex, as well as the lines of Aigle-Leysin, Aigle-Les Diablerets and the Bex-Gryon-Villars line that leads up to Bretaye.
