The launch of the festival season is always eagerly awaited in the canton of Vaud! It gives the public the opportunity to enjoy the warm summer days while discovering new musicians and artists in the four corners of the county of Vaud.
The Cully Jazz Festival traditionally launches the season of festivals in the canton of Vaud. For ten days in April, great names in music perform on the big stage and in the winegrowers’ cellars. The streets of this village in the heart of Lavaux UNESCO are filled with festival-goers who are delighted by the programme but also by the return of this festival period, during which they can enjoy shared moments and discover new artists. From mid-April to the end of August, from the towns on the shores of Lake Geneva to the country hamlets, the ephemeral stages are filled with the notes of musicians, the laughter of comedians, the emotions of filmmakers and the performances of actors. Even the digital world now has its festival: Numerik Games in Yverdon-les-Bains.
The climax of these months of festivals is reached in July with the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Paleo Festival in Nyon. The two of them alone bring together some 500,000 fans of contemporary music styles.
