Winter in Nyon, from the plain to the peaks

Located between Lausanne and Geneva, the city of Nyon is bordered by Lake Geneva, the resort of St-Cergue and the Vaudois Jura Park. An ideal environment for winter holidays, whether they focus on sports, nature or culture. Nyon, a town of festivals, is electrified by the “Hivernales” concerts, which take place in February each year.

Nyon boasts several typical Swiss landscapes: the lake shores, the La Côte AOC vineyard castles and, a few kilometres away, the Vaudois Jura Park and the resort of St-Cergue. This proximity is particularly appreciated in winter, when visitors pass comfortably from a museum to the ski slopes.

Easily accessible St-Cergue and Givrine, which are crowned by the mountain of La Dôle (1,677 m), offer all winter sports: skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and even walks with sled dogs. St-Cergue is also appreciated by skiers with little time to spare: its ski slopes are open and lit in the evening, offering a few descents after work, followed by a fondue.

The many witnesses of the past - the castles of Nyon, Prangins and Copped and the Roman Museum - attract history buffs. As a town of festivals, Nyon does not wait for spring to make its visitors dance during the four days of “Hivernales” winter concerts.
