Vevey - Markets
The Vevey Folk Markets are held on one of the biggest market squares in Europe, with a stunning view over Lake Geneva and the Alps. Every Saturday, locals and visitors to Vevey can enjoy UNESCO-listed Lavaux wines, typical dishes and traditional Swiss entertainment.
For over 40 years, the Place du Marché and the Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville set the stage for the Vevey Folk Markets. Every Saturday, from the beginning of July to the end of August, Vevey locals and people from the region, but also tourists from all over, flock to the Grenette covered market and the Hôtel-de-Ville. While sampling local produce, they soak up the summer heat and festive atmosphere of this market with its lively, colourful stalls and groups of musicians, folk dancers and alphorn players. Buy a souvenir glass, with a different design every Saturday, and you can enjoy the delicious local wines and meet the vine-growers of Lavaux and Chablais.
