Lausanne - Theatre and Shows
During his time in Lausanne, the famous choreographer Maurice Béjart created his company “Béjart Ballet Lausanne”. The BBL has performed to great acclaim all over the world, even after Béjart’s death in 2007 but remains loyal to Lausanne with very popular twice yearly performances.
The BBL performs in various venues in Lausanne every May or June and December, allowing audiences to discover the choreography of Maurice Béjart, but also new ballets created for the company by Gil Roman, the current artistic director, before travelling all around the world.
In october The Béjart Ballet Lausanne will be at The Théâtre de Jorat, in Mézières. They will perform new ballets: t ‘M et variations… and Béjart fête Maurice
In december at the Théâtre de Beaulieu, this masterly spectacle is, in the words of Maurice Béjart: "an extravaganza that transports us into the pure poetry of childhood and genius, then, and more particularly, a precise, rigorous, inspired ritual." Alternating magical and comical scenes, this ballet is a faithful stage production of Mozart’s score and loses none of its elevated philosophical message.
This Lausanne event is part of the celebrations for the year 2017, marking thirty years of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne and ten years since the death of Maurice Béjart.
