Sweet music, scents of mulled wine, cinnamon and biscuits, the Estavayer-le-Lac covered Christmas market distills, over the course of a weekend, the delicious atmosphere of the year-end holiday.
For two days, the medieval village of Estavayer-le-Lac lives to the rhythm of the carillons and Christmas activities. Stands of artisanal and local products snuggle up on the castle car park. Covered, the market gives pride of place to local merchants but also to merchants from a little further afield. Gourmands or onlookers looking for a personalised gift will find their happiness in the heart of this charming little market.
The St. Nicholas Festival, held the same weekend, but also the nearby ephemeral skating rink, adds a touch of magic to the event.
