Aigle - Gastronomy & Wine
The world’s finest wines using the chasselas grape are showcased in Aigle. The cultivating region dictates if a chasselas is a fendant or a gutedel, to be tasted in the heart of the vines between Aigle Château’s walls and its Vine and Wine Museum.
The Chasselas Worldwide Festival is a competition which awards prizes for the finest chasselas in the world. Wines from Switzerland, France, Germany, Hungary and even Canada are judged by specialists. The best vintages will be awarded gold and silver medals as a mark of their excellence for the year’s work.
Outside of the competition, this is a chance for wine lovers to taste some excellent vintages. Divided into regions, the winemakers serve up their best chasselas.
To guarantee the party atmosphere, live music fills the air and stalls sell tasty local produce. The Chasselas Festival not only lets you discover a variety of quality wines but also makes for a convivial meeting place in the Château courtyard.
