The 8th Chasselas Worldwide Competition held at Aigle Château witnessed the tasting of some 791 Chasselas wines from all around the world.
Under the noble patronage of the Swiss USOE and, for the first time in 2017, also that of the international Union of Oenologists (the UIOE), official tastings for the Chasselas Worldwide Competition were held three to four weeks before the results were announced. Professional experts conducted blind tastings and awarded the wines marks out of 100 in 5 different categories.
On 2nd and 3rd June, competition judges tasted 791 different wines. While the majority of the competing wines came from French-speaking Switzerland, an increased number (12.5%) came from Germany, France and even from Hungary, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
