Prangins - Culture and Heritage
In 2018, Château de Prangins celebrates 20 years as home to the Swiss National Museum. A major new exhibition on chintz will tell the vogue for the printed cotton fabric known as chintz swept through many European countries.
A 20th birthday is surely an event worthy of 50,000 candles! On Saturday 29 September the artist Muma will create a social sculpture entitled Flowers of Fire.
On Sunday, the historic costume parade of the 10th Lunch on the Grass will be more beautiful than ever.
Inspired by the flowers depicted in chintzes, the artist Muma will be laying on a spectacular light performance in the château gardens. If you'd like to be part of the magic, why not sign up as a volunteer! The commune of Prangins is partnering with this unique event and organising its village fête on the same day, with food trucks and drinks stands.
Official ceremony in the courtyard of the castle from 6.30pm
