Bringing together more than 100,000 spectators by the roadsides of western Switzerland in a festive atmosphere, the 2018 edition of the Tour de Romandie will honour the canton of Vaud. Yverdon-les-Bains will host the arrival of the 2nd leg, while Villars-sur-Ollon will provide the setting for the individual race against the clock and Mont-sur-Rolle will give the starting beep of the 5th leg.
In late April and early May each year, Tour de Romandie generates the same enthusiasm in the six French-speaking cantons of Switzerland. This 6-day sports event - one of Switzerland’s largest - takes 160 world-class cyclists to the most beautiful roads in western Switzerland. Initiated more than 70 years ago, Tour de Romandie is a historic event of international scope. Over the years, legendary champions such as Eddy Merckx, Tony Rominger and Laurent Jalabert won these legs. With 28 other cycling races around the globe, Tour de Romandie is part of UCI World Tour.
This unifying event attracts fans of cycling and festive events in beautiful scenery. Follow the route of the racing cyclists is indeed the opportunity to (re)discover the charms of Switzerland in the spring.
