A few minutes from the station, the funicular leaves the lakeshore town of Vevey to begin its ascent into the Lavaux vineyard terraces, a UNESCO world heritage site. Once here, visitors can explore Chardonne and its wine cellars and admire one of the finest views of Lake Geneva from Mont-Pèlerin.
A delightful funicular railway runs from Vevey to the village of Mont-Pèlerin. During the 11-minute climb into the hills of Lake Geneva, passengers can admire the vineyards, forests and the pretty vineyard village of Chardonne.
Once they have arrived at Mont-Pèlerin, they can soak up the views from the terrace of the Hôtel Mirador or walk to the Plein Ciel panoramic lift. Open from April to early November, the Plein Ciel lift offers a stunning panoramic view, one hour’s walk from the funicular station.
