It’s no surprise for walkers on the River Talent Trail when they happen upon our local wildlife, making this a popular outing with children! This gentle country walk near Lausanne can be enjoyed at any time of the year and combined with a refuelling stop at the Maison du Blé and Pain d’Echallens.
The River Talent in the Lake Geneva Region originates deep in the forest near Chalet-à-Gobet and Peney-le-Jorat. It runs through Montheron, Echallens and Chavornay to Orbe where it is joined by the Nozon. Together, they flow into the Orbe and become the Thielle, which runs into Lake Neuchâtel.
The River Talent Trail is waymarked between Montheron and the Place du Pont in Echallens. This peaceful forest walk offers a wide variety of flora and fauna for hikers to enjoy. Just follow the “Sentier du Talent” signs along the 9.8 km trail which takes you through Lausanne, Bretigny-sur-Morrens, Cugy, Morrens, Assens, Bottens and Echallens, where public transport is available if you only want to do part of the walk.
