The must-do trip for all Swiss gourmet holidays, everyone will find something to enjoy on the Chocolate Train, whether it’s sweet or savoury. Departing from Montreux, the exceptional GoldenPass carriages carry their passengers to the mediaeval town of Gruyères and the Maison Cailler in Broc.
This trip on the trail of two national treasures – chocolate and gruyère – is only available on board the luxury “Belle Epoque” or panoramic carriages.
The first stop of the morning is the Maison Cailler where visitors can enjoy an interactive audio-visual tour on the history and secrets of chocolate making.
In the afternoon, the train continues on its way to the Gruyère cheese factory, the birthplace of the AOP hard cheese produced for centuries and exported around the world. Naturally, the culmination of both visits is a chance to try the Cailler chocolate or Gruyère AOP.
The Chocolate Train runs every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in May, June, September and October and every day in July and August.
