Starting from the Col de la Givrine pass leading to the French border, La Tourbière is a cross-country ski trail through the forest. Dogs are allowed on this trail and it’s not unusual to come across other animals or see tracks in the snow.
Starting from La Givrine a few metres from the railway station and car park, La Tourbière is an easy cross-country ski trail for both classic and skating techniques, accessible to all abilities. The trail starts at the Col de la Givrine pass, traditionally an important link between Eastern France and the Lake Geneva region.
The first stage heads towards the La Genolière restaurant. After a short gentle climb, you head off this path into a beautiful forest, where you’ll be able to see animal tracks through the tall pine trees. Follow the signs for the La Tourbière trail along the route. Once you get to La Tourbière at 1,275 metres, you continue up to 1,292 m heading for Combe Grasse, and finishing at La Givrine. Admire the dappled sunlight in the woods as you go; a sight not to be missed.
