The Toblerone Trail owes its name to a line of fortifications built during the 1939-45 mobilization. The population christened the anti-tank blocks «Toblerones» because their shape recalls a Swiss chocolate brand.
The Toblerone Trail owes its name to a line of fortifications built during the 1939-45 mobilization. Its famous "toblerones” were built over a stretch of some dozen kilometres from the Jura to Lake Geneva. The trail leads along a succession of attractive natural sites. The brooks are lined with forests practically all along the way, representing a highly interesting preserved natural environment, not to mention the great number of nature attractions offered to keen observers.
A visit of the charming lakeshores, of the Prangins Castle Swiss National Museum and its ancient vegetable garden will pleasantly round off this wonderful excursion.
