Open only by reservation for groups, the Caveau de Chardonne features the wines of around fifteen winemakers of this UNESCO-listed Lavaux wine region.
Overlooking the UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyard and Lake Geneva, at the foot of Mont-Pèlerin, Chardonne can be reached by road or funicular from Vevey.
The Caveau de Chardonne can be booked all year round for private events for 20 to 40 people. During these exclusive gatherings, guests are given a chance to sample the red or white wines – predominantly chasselas – of the fifteen or so members of the caveau.
In addition to these private events, the Caveau de Chardonne opens its doors every year for the Caves Ouvertes events in May and November, and for the Marché des Vins and four jazz evenings from June to September. To complete their wine tourism experience, visitors can hop onto the Lavaux-Panoramic, a train on wheels running between Chardonne and Chexbres, and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Geneva.
